Terms of Use

Last updated: 28 August 2026

Good Shout is a curated cultural events guide focused currently on Black and diaspora events in London.

We discover events from organisers, venues, ticketing platforms, public sources and community submissions.

We check key event information and provide editorial recommendations designed to help people discover events worth knowing about.

Good Shout is an independent discovery and editorial service. Unless expressly stated otherwise, we are not the organiser, venue, ticket seller or promoter of events listed on the site.

Section 1

What Good Shout does

Good Shout finds events, checks key details against a primary source and publishes a curated shortlist with our own editorial view of who each event may suit.

Using the site does not create any relationship between you and the organisers, venues or ticket providers behind the events we list. Those relationships are yours with them.

Section 2

Verified information

Before listing an event, we aim to check:

  • the event date;
  • the venue;
  • the official event or ticket link; and
  • published age restrictions, where available.

Events can change. Dates move, line-ups change, venues change and events are sometimes postponed or cancelled at short notice.

Always check the organiser or ticket provider directly before travelling to an event or buying a ticket.

Section 3

Good Shout intelligence

Likely crowd, vibe, Best For, Good Shout / Strong Shout and "Why it's a Good Shout" are editorial opinions or estimates. They are our view, not organiser-confirmed fact, unless we say otherwise.

Good Shout
Worth knowing about and something we'd recommend for the right crowd.
Strong Shout
One of the standouts. An event we'd put near the top of your consideration list this week.

These labels are recommendations only. They do not guarantee that you will enjoy an event.

Section 4

Tickets, payments and third parties

  • Good Shout does not currently sell tickets.
  • Good Shout does not process ticket payments.
  • Purchases are made through third-party ticket providers, venues or organisers.
  • Those third parties' own terms, refund policies and privacy policies apply to your purchase.

Section 5

Event submissions

  • Submitting an event does not guarantee publication.
  • Good Shout may verify, edit, decline, remove or correct submissions at its discretion.
  • You must not knowingly provide false, misleading or unlawful information.
  • You should not provide private personal information about other people without a proper reason or the authority to do so.

Section 6

Event images and third-party material

Event names, flyers, images, logos and other material may belong to organisers, venues, photographers or other rights holders. We use such material to identify and describe events.

If you are a rights holder and would like material removed or credited differently, contact hello@thegoodshout.co.uk and we will review it promptly.

Section 7

Good Shout content

The Good Shout name, branding, original editorial content, intelligence write-ups and site material belong to Good Shout or its licensors, and may not be copied, republished or used commercially without permission.

Ordinary personal, non-commercial sharing of links to Good Shout pages is welcome and encouraged.

Section 8

Accuracy and availability

  • Listings may change after publication.
  • Errors and omissions may occur.
  • Content may be updated, corrected or removed at any time.
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability of the site.

Section 9

Your decisions

You remain responsible for deciding whether an event is suitable for you, and for checking entry requirements, age restrictions, accessibility, travel arrangements, safety and venue policies before you go.

Section 10

Accounts and saved events

Account functionality may exist even where it is not promoted as part of the main Good Shout experience, including saving events.

If you have an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity carried out through your account.

Section 11

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • interfere with the security or operation of the site;
  • attempt unauthorised access to any part of the service or its data;
  • introduce malicious code;
  • submit knowingly false or misleading event information;
  • use Good Shout for any unlawful purpose; or
  • place unreasonable automated load on the site.

Section 12

Liability

Good Shout is provided as a discovery and editorial service. We take reasonable care with the information we publish, but we are not responsible for the events themselves, for the acts or omissions of organisers, venues or ticket providers, or for changes made after we publish.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for losses arising from your use of third-party websites and services.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Section 13

Changes to Good Shout

Good Shout is still developing and validating the service. Features, sections and functionality may change, be added or be removed as the service evolves.

Section 14

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page, and the "Last updated" date will be changed where appropriate.

Section 15

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you may also have rights to bring proceedings in the courts applicable to where you live within the United Kingdom.
